Adopt a WMA Program
In 2021, we adopted Gilfillan Lake WMA as part of a MNDNR sponsored program.  We work with the area's managers on projects involving facilities maintenance, facilities improvements and Habitat/Wildlife Management.

Pollinator Project
In the fall of 2023, we are planning to plant 3 acres of the short-grass prairie with additional forbs and wildflowers for pollinators (Area outlined in yellow). In addition to the conservation benefits, we hope that this area will create an attractive view for our neighbors from the roadway to the east.

Dog Training Field Reseeding
We are developing 12 acres into short-grass prairie. The areas highlighted in red and yellow were planted in early November of 2022.  This will allow our hunting dog trainers to be better able to see their dogs work the field during training exercises.

Having a well trained dog conserves game and makes the hunt more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Restoration of USFWS Land purchased with monies from Duck Stamp Sales.

We've donated money to MN Pheasants, Inc. to be used as matching funds associated with the Belgard WPA restoration.  These matching funds are required by a MN State Conservation Partners Legacy (CPL) Grant approved by the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council: FY2022 CPL 1; MN Pheasants Inc, Belgard WPA Restoration.

This restoration work is expected to be completed by the fall of 2024.
